Silver City Road reconstruction to begin mid-July

BOISE -- Crews will reconstruct flood damaged portions of the Silver City Road in Owhyee County beginning July 10-15. This Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funded project is sponsored by Owyhee County and is estimated for completion in October 2006. To expedite the project, crews will work an aggressive schedule that will require complete closure of the roadway from 6 a.m. to noon and 1 to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. The roadway will be open from noon to 1:00 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday, and between 7 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Monday. Motorists should expect minimal weekend delays. Theuson Construction of Nampa is the contractor on this $700,000 project that will include replacement of approximately 850 feet of culvert pipe and resurfacing of approximately four miles of gravel roadway. The roadway was damaged during heavy rainfall and the subsequent flooding of Scotch Bob Creek in January 2006.
